Week

I know I haven't posted anything this week but I have really had a "different" week. I've been out and busy doing some things. Also a tad on the sad side, but I don't want to talk about that just now. I can't believe time goes by as quickly as it does. Anyhoo, I'm wrapping up at work so that I may go do my nails. I may or may not go out tonight with the girls from work but I'm not sure yet.

For those that are interested in knowing the contents of my list, I'm not sure if I'm ready to share that just yet. Although the contents are not super personal I think I hold them safe in my Palm but not so sure about the web yet.

Off for now, will check in some later if anything develops or I feel like talking.

"The LIST"

Vox has requested that I introduce and explain "The LIST" to all the Floatinghead fans. So a couple of years ago I decided that I was not going to let time pass me by without doing some of the things that I always wanted to do. I wanted and still want to make sure that not only do I accomplish everything that I want in my lifetime but that I also go everywhere that I want to and see everything that I want to. Hence, the creation of "The LIST".

Every year I come up with things that I need to get done before the year is out. Last year I had 7 things on my LIST and only did 3, 42% of the things that I set out to do. This year I am a bit more ambitioud, I put 12 things on my list, thus far I can checked off 4 things, 33% and still going.

Don't get me wrong the LIST is not like the 10 commandments or anything, it's just a way for me to keep track of what I do and what I want to do. And all my items are not necessarily big items like find the meaning of life, they are simple things like visiting a new state or going to a basketball game (see previous post to see how disappointed I was after going to see the Knicks play). I do have some rules that I made up to keep my LIST within reason, I can't have more than 12 items on the list on any given year, and unaccomplished items from last year can roll over into the new year if possible.

This process inspires me to stay on top of things that really mean a lot to me. Feel free to adopt the same method if you want (although I know some people are not into lists of any kind, I'm just a neat freak). Hope it helps anyone out there that was looking for something similar to hold themselves accountable.

Unpopped Popcorn....Seriously?

I guess scientists must have gotten bored of trying solve or find answers to things that really matter. They have put all their efforts and came up with answer to the question everyone wants answered, why doesn't all the corn pop? Seriously, I don't think this is such a major issue in the world. Try finding acure for cancer or tell how what the meaning of life is. Don't talk to me about popcorn.

Good News

I just wanted to share also that I am (un)officially done with my certificate. Woohoo!!! My last class met today, have done all but one assignment that I just have to e-mail and then, it's over. Now I'll take a little break and enjoy the nice weather and some ice cream too. Now I'll continue watching the Apprentice.

Interesting Article

I found this article on MSN that was surprisingly fitting and interesting. I thought it would be nice to share.

New Found Resolve

So my new found resolve is to enjoy every minute of my life without thinking of the future or what comes next. I came to this during Yoga class (which was very good by the way) and it went pretty well for about an hour, and then it all fell apart. So I will continue to try and will report my progress accordingly. If anyone has any tips please let me know, I need all the help I can get.

I'm watching L&O, I hope detective Green comes back to the show soon. They seem to keep mentioning him so I'm sure he'll come back. Hey, as long as Sam Waterson is still around I'm cool. Toodles for now!

Hey we got a New Pope

I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't report that we have a new Pope. So if anyone out there is living underneath a rock and hasn't heard this, this news is new to you.

Weekend Non-Break

This weekend was so not exciting and fun. I signed up for this three day intensive course which left me no time to sleep or enjoy the nice weather. I'm sure to make up for that next weekend. Although I complain because I had no weekend break I'm glad I took the class and got it done and over with. That means I have completed my certificate and can move on to bigger better things. That means I now have to figure out what those bigger and better things are.

One thing's for sure, I need a vacation, I need to get away, and I need to do that as soon as possible. As you all know by now, I think way too much. So I figure that if I'm away at least I can think straight and maybe come up with some good ideas. We'll see about that....

Jelly Beans

Purple Pickle came back from vacation and brought me Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans like the ones in Harry Potter. They are really yucky, taste like all kinds of weird flavors. Of course I had to try them all, now I feel a bit queasy, I have to admit I should not have mixed Dirt and Sardine. Ick! Funny thing is I ate the whole box. I am such a sucker for candy. Check them out! www.fronskiefeint.com/bertie_botts.shtml

Friends?

I have a question. I seem to be getting confused as to how to decipher when someone is your friend or when someone is just your acquaintance. I thought I knew the difference but I seem to be losing the definitions.

Please advise if you know the difference. For the most part I feel that I am friendly with many people but I feel as though they don't return the "friend" vibe. What's up with that?

Basketball......and?

So I went to a basketball game last night with my friend VC. This was the first time ever that I went to see a real live game. We went to see the Knicks play and boy do they suck. It was like watching grass grow. They are so horrible. During time outs they had people playing tic-tac-toe which was a lot better than the entire game. Also during half time, they had a team of little kids playing, they must have been 7 or 8 years old, and those teams played much better than the "Pro" players. Needless to say I probably won't be going to another basketball game, I prefer baseball.

Brief update, I have been sleeping ok for the past 2 days, although I don't know how long it will last. Last night I had another weird dream but it wasn't as weird as the others. I have developed a new found complex where I feel I am not as smart as other people. I don't know where this came from (since I've personally have always felt that I'm smarter than most) that's just my new hang up I guess.

Let's go Mets!

Hey, the Mets actually won one yesterday. I forgot to mention that before since I was so enraged. So that brings them up to 2 wins this season, I think that's actually the most times they've won ever. So the standing is now 2 wins, 5 losses. Let's hope they do better this season.

Patience....

So it's monday and a beautiful day out, and I have the patience of a 2 year old today. The weekend was good. Ran errands for the most part, nothing exciting.

So why do I have zero patience today, several reasons: 1) I haven't been sleeping well. See my previous blog on dreams and you'll know why. The dreams continue to get weirder and weirder. I guess my brain is doing over time. 2)Even though I can't get into this too much right now, something happened to me this morning that really gets me upset. I have a meeting scheduled with someone for a particular time, they decide to be 30 minutes (or more) late and are non-apologetic. Have some common courtesy people! The world does not revolve around you! 3) I have a doctor's appointment today to get an annual physical, and they tell me I can eat for eight hours prior to my appointment. My appointment is for 12 noon and I am starving already. I miss food and want to eat now. I'll see how long I can go on just water.

New Read

Also, I wanted to mention that I have started to read Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. It's preety good so far but I have to say it's very similar to the Da Vinci Code. I thought the Da Vinci Code was awesome but I won't discriminate until after I finish reading this book. If you guys have any recommendations on good reads please let me know. For me it's very hard to find a good book.

Apologies.....(and Tom is Gorgeous)

I know I have not been maintaining my blog this week. I apologize to my fellow bloggers. I don't know I think I've just been caught up in other things and too tired to blog. Example, last night I was watching survivor and I thought about blogging about my new found crush, but I just fell asleep instead. Which leads me to the following:

For those of you that follow Survivor, I have a huge crush on Tom the Fireman. I watch the show just to see what he does next. Check him out at the Survivor web site.

I don't think I've had a crush since New kids on the Block were popular. (Hey I was young and stupid ok). Tom is just my new favorite person on TV. I think he is just charming.

Night Out with the Gals

I went out with GM and LV last night. We had such a good time. We had mexican food in the restaurant around Grand Central Station. The food was ok, but the music was great (they had a live DJ) and there was this old dude dancing by himself that was hilarious. Coincidentally he asked us to dance too but we didn't. At that point we were busy eating.

After that we went to Bar XII and had a few drinks with the cute bartender Shan. He's from Ireland (yum! and can make good drinks). Needless to say the three of us got really happy and wanted to go out with Shane to sing some kareoki (sp) but he had to work til 4 am. You can tell at this point that we weren't completely aware of what we were doing since kareoki sounded like a good idea. We did have a blast though, the most fun being getting to the subway station when LV in the middle of the street decides that she wants to show us what she bought that day at express, meanwhile its raining and people are looking at us weird.

Today is low key day, I napped a lot since it's raining so badly. I don't really feel like going out today, maybe tomorrow.
