Dreams

So I've been having strange dreams all of this week and they are starting to freak me out a little bit. The worse dream was one I had a few days a go where I was at work completely naked, and the only thing I had to cover myself was a small yellow towel. The weirdest thing was that people either did not notice or didn't care that I was naked they just wanted me to get the work done. Then last night I had a dream that my boyfriend was this really tall dude, but for some reason we got frustrated at the people we were walking with so we just started running. Maybe that dream is not so weird, on the subway ride home last night after yoga I saw this really cute tall dude (which I named Your Royal Tallness) and thought to myself that maybe I should give him my phone number. Then I remembered how people don't just talk to each other on the subway. So I got of train and made my connection to the 7 Line and continued on my way home. Pretty interesting then I guess.

Yoga and More

I had a great Yoga class today. I love Yoga it makes me feel so good. My teacher actually kicked someone out of the class today. He gets really frustrated when beginners try to take the advanced class, so he asked the lady if she had done yoga before, she said no, so he told her she had to leave because she would hold up the rest of the class. I thought that was funny, last time two beginners joined the class and actually quit before it was over. They just got up and left.

Haven't been keeping up with the news in recent days, what's going on out there? I've been working at getting by business up and running, check out the link. I'm the HR Guru, yes indeed I am. So once I get my nose out of this which should be no later than next week I will be back to my usual chatter.

Monday Monday

Well atleast I know that Monday is now over. The dreaded day has past, now I can focus on the rest of the week, once bellybutton day comes then it's usually all good after that. I really need a vacation, I have to get away from the daily grind and switch gears a little bit. It doesn't help that I didn't do anything over the weekend since that makes me feel like I'm missing out on something. Hey, has anything chnaged out there? Let me know.

I suddenly feel like having an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel, where can I get that at 10:30pm?

Tomorrow wil be another day, I will try to not think as much and let things be. I think that if I try to hard things won't fall into place. For those of you a tad confused right now I will explain in future posts, or call me if you want.

Nada

I did not do anything special this weekend I must say. It was rather boring and uneventful. My plans for Saturday got cancelled on Friday and I did not come up with any replacement plans. For some reason I was slow and waited till I was bored to think to myself that I should have called someone earlier that day. By the time I thought that I was so lazy I could not even pick up the phone. I did get to do a lot of thinking but in my case that is not necessarily a good thing since that's what I do most of the time anyway.

Went to church and breakfast with the family today. It was OK, only the diner we went to took forever to take care of us. People came and went and now food for us. We waited about 45 minutes to get our food and all the waitress could say was "Sorry". Needless to say I will not be going back to that place no matter how hungry I am.

In other news I got brand new in-line skates with my friend GM today. It is the best of our intention to use them once the weather gets better. Apparently, we think it would be cool to skate in the park on weekends when the weather permits. We'll see how that goes.

Review

Well I am happy that tomorrow is Friday. Looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend. This past week has been less than pleasant. Too much work, too much paper, too much negative energy. Ick!

Anywho, as promised I saw the dcoumentary of the life of Frida Kahlo. It was on last night on PBS. Fot those of you that haven't realized it, I watch PBS a lot. It was pretty good, detailed and well rounded (at least I thought it was). I will admit though that I fell asleep about 3/4ths of the way through but not because I was bored but because I was so tired. I wish I could have seen the whole thing and hope they re-air the show. I have never seen the movie (Salma Hayek, Double Ick!) so I didn't know that much about this woman until now. Pretty rough life but she was a talented chick.

For those that are interested, check the PBS web site for your local listing (I sound like the PBS commercial) to see if they will show it again in your area.

Ruff....

So I've had a rough couple of days at work. I seem to be working towards something I just haven't figured out what that something is. And for some reason the paperwork just doesn't fade away, it just keeps piling up. Although I have made some progress since now I can actually see some portions of my desk.

Anyway, after a good work out and a good shower, I feel better and I am watching PBS, which has some very interesting shows lately. Today I'm watching a documentary on the life of Frida Kahlo. I'll give you my review tomorrow.

Tupperware

I saw this great show on PBS tonight called the American Experience. It was pretty interesting, about Tupperware and a major player (a woman) who practically built the empire and then got axed. For anyone that wants to check it out. Or you can find it on the PBS website. www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/films/amx1606.html

What do you think?

I am sadden by the news about Terri Schiavo. This woman, I think, has suffered enough. Now congress and the President has publicized her family's issue all over the world. Don't get me wrong, I'm not on the husband side and I'm not on the family's side, but I do think that this is a family problem that should not be discussed by Congress and definately not the President. What do you think?

MD and back again

So I went to Maryland this weekend to visit the Pickles. It was so nice to see them again, such a good family. Mini-Pickle is doing wonderfully, he is such a big boy, so cute and cuddly. I can wait for him to start doing things like eating Cheerios and trying to crawl.

I took the Chinatown bus down to DC which was quite interesting. When I got to chinatown I was pulled in so many different directions I felt like I was in a meat market. The bus ride was ok in both directions. I got to do some reading (which by the by I am almost done with the Da Vinci Code which is interesting. The storyline does not let you down, you have to read this book. That is unless you get offended if you hear other theories about the life of Jesus Christ.)and people watching. I always wonder why people wait until the very last minute to get to the bus (same theorie can apply to other modes of transportation) to then decide that they want to put their bags in cargo to then start taking things out that they feel they may or may not need on the bus. But anyway, after the bus is delayed due to this all was well, no unusual smells or unknown creatures. Just a regular bus ride.

So that was me weekend in a nut shell. More observations to come.

BTW, Happy Friday!

It's friday and it's party time. As I said in my previous post I am going to see the Pickle Family, so I will be taking a long ride down to the good ol' state of Maryland today. Looking forward to napping on the bus.

Excuses Excuses

This is how quickly they come up with excuses. Probably not revealing the true nature of how things happen. Check out this article is the New York Daily News. Look for the title Train pain culprit: TA for some reason I can't add the link to my blog.

MTA Mess

As we all know yesterday's commute was impossible if you relied on the 4, 5 or 6 lines. Somehow the trains managed to be messed up for the periods of rush hour AGAIN. And, correct me if I'm wrong but the subway always seems to break down during the peak times.

Last week it snowed about an inch and it was windy and guess what, the trains don't work, as if a little bit of wind has so much control over the underground subway system. If it rains a little, the trains don't work. On the number 7 line, for a whole month they had to perform "necessary" track work from 7am to 9 am and from 3pm to 7pm. How convenient! what happened to all the hours in between! I think that if the MTA is going to charge us more money they should at least provide good service. Talk about a monopoly, they know New Yorkers have no choice so they abuse us and take all our money.

Now that I vented, check out this article on yesterday's mess on the Lexington Avenue.

Killer.....

I went to a plant sale with Purple Pickle (PP) today and got a new plant for my office. It's a Venus Fly Trap, it actually eats bugs! It's carnivorous plant like the one in Little Shop of Horrors. I named my plant Killer. Killer shall reside next to my fish Stephanie. I am very excited just to see how people get freaked out over this "thing" sitting on top of my desk. PP got one too, she named hers Fluffy.

For the Curious

For those that are curious to know, Bellybutton day has not been made an oficical holiday or proclaimed as a special day by the federal government. (And I dare say it, the Government of Floating Head is not a real government, at least not outside my head). It's just the way yours truly divides up the week. When Bellybutton day comes around we know the week is almost over.

Anywho, now that this issue has been cleared up I can be at peace. Really looking forward to this weekend, I'm going to see the Pickles (Pickle, Mama Pickle and Mini Pickle (better known as my bubba))and I can't wait.

Bellybutton day is now almost over, so I think I'll get going.

Bellybutton Day

It's Bellybutton Day! That means the week is half over and Friday is just around the corner. Aah the joyful thoughts of the weekend...

Disturbed in the City

I stumbled on to something on the internet today that has disturbed me. I found a service, that for the sake of myself and others shall remain nameless, that sells your personal information to anyone that basically has $10 and access to the internet. I keep thinking to myself that this is a violation of my privacy, and yes I know the information they "sell" is a matter of public record, however if anyone should profit from selling my name, address, etc., it should be me!

I'm sure that my buddy Vox (www.voxinfo.com) would agree with me when I say, Why should everyone and there mother know where I live, or how old I am, or my phone number? I mean, I always knew this information was out there I just didn't know how virtually anyone can purchase my information. Needless to say that I am deeply troubled by this.

Wadda Day!

It's the end of Monday and already I feel as though it should be Friday, we'll see how the rest of the week goes.

I also wanted to make sure that those of you that are checking my blog also check the links that are available, you will find interesting people with a lot to say and I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

I have decided to go to Yoga class tonight, although I feel a bit tired and out of sink with myself today I think it will do me well. Besides, the walk there should be pleasant and do me well since it's such a nice day out. Hopefully it won't snow anymore and we will finally start getting some spring weather.

Weekend Report

Had a pretty good relaxing weekend just the way a girl should. Got myself some jewlry at Tiff's, got a manicure and pedicure, got my eyebrows done, took a long nap (I love naps, they should make naps mandatory during working hours) and ate more than my share of a Tiramisu cake.......yummy.

Didn't have any formal plans, just stay home and recoup from a very tough week and prepare for the next one. Mission accomplished. It seems that most of my friends (which I was able to actually speak to this weekend) are in roughly the same situation, it must be the time of year. Do all the work now before the summer comes that way you can leave the office and go party after work every day.

My sister came over today, had dinner with the family. It was refreshing, which is weird in my family to have a "normal" moment. Today I was able to actually appreciate this moment which is even weirder to me.

Update

Comments are now postable. Hurray for that!

Apparently.........

So apparently now no one can comment on these blog pages. This afternoon my friend Purple Pickle and I were very distrubed by this. All of a sudden BAM! you can't comment on your friend's blog and it seems as though you will be unable to communicate forever. Lucky for us we found that that blog site has a message saying they are working on fixing this problem, so we are now calm.

I'm trying to do some homework (for the life of me I never thought I would have to do homework as an adult) for a class that I took last week. Why do they give you an assignement and make it due well after you have forgotten most of the content of the course. This mistery is yet to be solved.

Blog Away Floating Head

So a few people have obviously convinced me that Blogging is the thing to do. Here it is guys, Floating Head is now a blog.

This is just be a way for people to keep track of what I'm doing, share information, ideas, or observations about different topics and keep track of my mischief and other sticky (and/or) odd situations that I may encounter in this lovely city.

That was a brief intro to Floating Head, let's see what happens now, check up on my often as you never know what I may be up to.
